BOARD OF TRUSTEES

IHT’s Board is defined in the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement. Three of its four members are nominated by each of the Regional Inuit Associations (RIA's) and then chosen by Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated (NTI). The fourth member is directly appointed by NTI. Each member serves a two to three-year term.

The Directors of IHT don’t just represent the organization or region that appointed them; each IHT Director represents, and acts in the best interests of, the Inuit of Nunavut collectively.

IHT’s Board is very active and works on many levels from developing policy to day to day aspects of IHT’s work. The interest and experience they bring to IHT shows in their dedication and their range of community, regional and territorial involvement in other areas. Through their direction, staff is then able to meet the goals of IHT through our on-going projects or by establishing new ones.
