About Me
I was born in Iqaluit and raised across Canada. These experiences led me to want to learn more about my community and how it fits into our country. This led to a B.A. in History and Political Science from Carleton University, complemented with a degree from the College of Law at the University of Saskatchewan.
My first entry into the Archaeology world was in 2016 during a partnership between IHT and Adventure Canada as an Archaeology Mentee. I have since spent my summers on board expeditions educating guests on Inuit archaeology, culture, and realities.
Being out on the water doesn’t stop on the ships but I love to be out boating or paddling. Here in Iqaluit, I help out with Qajakkut. We are a non-profit that works towards the strengthening of Qajaq related knowledge systems.
Currently at IHT, I am a Heritage Specialist working primarily on the Repatriation of Nunavut Inuit Ancestors and their cultural belongings. We have created a Committee of Elders and Knowledge Holders to guide the finalization of our Nunavut Inuit Repatriation Policy.
