| Board of Trustees | |
IHT's Board is defined in the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement. Each of the Regional Inuit Associations (RIAs) nominate two people from their region to be considered by NTI. Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated (NTI) then chooses between these nominations and appoints the trustees. The fourth member is directly appointed by NTI. Each member serves a two to three-year term. The Directors of IHT don't just represent the organization or region that appointed them; each IHT Director represents, and acts in the best interests of, the Inuit of Nunavut collectively. IHT's Board is very active and works on many levels from developing policy to day to day aspects of IHT's work. The interest and experience they bring to IHT shows in their dedication and their range of community, regional and territorial involvement in other areas. Through their direction, staff is then able to meet the goals of IHT through our on-going projects or by establishing new ones. The current members of IHT's Board of Trustees are: |
